I have encapulated the historical path that is documented historical/archival information pertaining to the original WBCP(s).
Martha Bad Warrior, ALH's Great-Grandmother was adopted by Old Man Elk Head, as he was called. This came about from his time at Turtle Mountain Manitoba during ceremony with the SCFC between 1834-1839, recorded in the Nicolette Journals from that time period.
Old Man Elk Head was the representative of the Seven Council Fires Council from the Cheyenne River region of the Western Teton Sioux.
Martha Bad Warrior was born in 1837, and from the Elk Head families recent information sent to me in Nov 07, was a Dakota from the North, not a Lakota by birth...well, North of Cheyenne River is Turtle Mountian, Manitoba, just over the medicine line of North Dakota.
I have cross referenced this information with the Eddie Herman Collection in the SI, that says Martha Bad Warrior was a Dakota...and, was the only woman "Keeper" ever of the WBCP.
What is the beauty of this information is there is no bloodline between Martha Bad Warrior & the Elk Head family...and, she obviously married into the Bad Warrior family, which has been a recognized family of "Keepers" of the original WBCP(s), and (is recorded as such, by Wilbur A. Riegert's info of Martha's telling of the linage of the Pipe(s) in "Quest for the Pipe of the Sioux, As Viewed from Wounded Knee" copyright 1975).
Since the origin of Martha's Dakota birthplace was the area where the governmental body of the Siouan Nation was located, it is understandable why she took it upon herself to take possession of the Pipe(s) from Old Man Elk Head when he died, because her family there at Cheyenne River was becoming Christianized.
From the family's tone, the Elk Head family was not pleased by this, but from Martha's original Dakota origin, could not dispute her claim to It, because the adoption, the making of relatives (Hunka Ceremony) between the Dakota, (which were the largest voting body of the Seven Council Fires Council) and, the Lakota "Keepers" of the Sacred Pipe(s), united the two Dakota/Lakota together by family (Oyate).
The Dakota's larger voting ability would have allowed this to happen for the good of the people of the Seven Council Fires Council and all of mankind, as the original teachings of the Pipe(s) from WBCPW dictated from Creator.
The Seven Council Fires Council broke down in the 1860's because of war, and the death of Sleepy Eye, who was the Grand Chief of the SCFC, had not named a sucessor. The tribes of the SCFC never had the opportunity to rebuild itself because of this. However, from all indications it was always the intention that it be rebuilt, and why Fools Crow's presence at Turtle Mountain in the 1930's shows this intention to do so, by the making of the 14 Buffalo Calf Pipes Fools Crow commissioned Standing Eagle of Pipestone, Minnesota to make for this purpose.
One for each of the men, along with one for each their female counterparts of the Seven Tribes of the SCFC...balance.
This also allowed the women to regain their rightful place in society & ceremony that had been lost with the patriarchial colonial concept that tipped this balance from its matriarchial origin. We had been a matriarchial society before contact.
All of the information began to make sense, after the Elk Head information & the Eddie Herman Collection verified Martha's connection to the Turtle Mountain Dakota.
At the end of the day, the current information provided is not accurate, and is self serving, where the original intention of the Pipe(s) is for the good of all mankind.
I am writing the disertation now to provide this to the people.
It has been quite a puzzle to reconstruct with the limited information available, (written mainly by non-native archeologists, from the deceptive data given them from the most current information available 1964-1967 & given to the Smithsonian, but with much contraversy today) and, with so many other falsehoods out there by people with a personal agenda...but, it is my feeling this is about to change with this information.

This story was told to me by an elder a number of years ago. He used to
come to Pipestone to get stone from George and Dick Bryan. This was
copied from a letter he sent me in Oct 2006.

Warren's story......from Pipestone, Minnesota

It was early summer in the early 1970’s I made my semi-annual pilgrimage
to Pipestone. As I sat and talked with George, he showed me a piece of
Alabaster and asked, what can be done with it,? and I said carve a white
Bison. He cut the stone in half and said we should both carve one. As we
sat and carved he said he received a letter and a template from this
fellow ( Wilbur Reigert ) from Wounded Knee and wanted him to make a
copy of the Sacred calf pipe that was broken when AIM burned the Wounded
Knee Museum. Wilbur make a tracing from the broken pieces. George then
made a tin template and should still be with George’s other templates if
Billy or Dick still have his things. After George died I visited his
wife Winona and she still had the templates.
I was back in Pipestone a couple months later to get some stone from
dick. As Dick and I were Talking George arrived and had the finished
copy of the Sacred Calf pipe. Dick had been working on the stem and it
was finished. We sat and talked for a while and neither George or Dick
wanted to see if the stem would fit. They asked me to see if I would set
the stem in the bowl, and it did and it fit perfectly. I only remember
that the stem was about 24” long and had carving on it. I thought it had
turtles and skull carving ( Elk or Bison)?The stem was made of Ash and
was flat and slightly oval.

Dear Readers,
I recently went online to view the search engines for lookingbackwoman.com, and found all kinds of references to me, without permission to use my name, and in many cases, having nothing to do with me at all, just using my name to bring traffic to their sites.
I have also seen complete fabrications, such as John Lekay financing my film "Gift From the Ancestors", which was already straightened out months ago by filmmaker Louie Lawless, that Lekay has nothing what so ever to do with the film, period.
I found sites with completely no regard for its infomation accuracy, or the guidlines for internet conduct.
There are yet others, who have manipulated links to lbw.com....they have no right what so ever, to do what they have with my name, yet as cowardly, and inmature as it is...it is their only way to discount the documentation/archival data, interviews, and letters I have to dispute their claims of my being a fraud or an exploiter,...my career choice seems to be the only thing they can really dig me on, at least I have a career...and, do not rely on selling that which is Sacred to make my living, or way in the world. Nor do I ask for any donations of any kind, or have any outside financing. Can they say the same?
The finger pointers are the ones who have much to hide, and with my new information so well detailed, it clearly shows their ongoing deceptions since the death in 1936 of Martha Bad Warrior, pertaining to the actual history, bloodline linage, origin, purpose, and ceremonial use of the original Cannunpa Wakan.
The No Proof, No Truth of Native Voice a few months back would be sorely challenged with Truth, if that was their objective. There is plenty of Truth to be found if you want to find it, if I can...anyone can find it sitting there in written history to show the people the way.
The question by most is, do the people really want the truth?
If they do, then why would any such someone, tolerate the clingons & trailers who have attached themselves to lbw.com through such negative performances online? Who would believe people who hide behind internet technology, and cannot face the persons they accuse?
Prove yor allegations against me, or slink away to where you came from, the sewer isn't around me, or my Sacred name. If you do not have my permission to use my name...do not use it on your sites, as a draw to bring people there, actually looking for information pertaining to me.
You have used my name for your entertainment & enrichment long enough, if you do not have something postive to say, say nothing...your Ancestor's believed it was the best way to be. But, we... who know, know this type of behavior is nothing like anything our Ancestor's would do, they were to well brought up....so what kind of traditionals are these accusers?
Are we not allowed to have & follow our dreams & visions? Do we need to ask permission from the likes of these guttersnipes to pray to our Creator? Do we have to pay them for the privilege of praying to Creator? Who are they really anyway? Do you really know who they are? They, who will stoop to such levels to save themselves from being exposed?
Is it me or them that are the frauds or exploiters? I can prove my claims, can they????
Anyone trying so hard to manipulate the media & material/data as they are must have something indeed to hide, find that out...and, you will then know & understand the truth.
